Out ryding today and noticed there are 3 types of people- those that smile, those that point and those that stare. Wherever you go there are people staring at the Spyder and you, often they have a cheeky grin and quite often they point. It was another fantastic winters day on the Gold Coast, ryding around the beaches of Kirra, Coolangatta and Snapper Rocks couldn't get much better.

So today I may have obtained some sort of Spyder record, I will have to contact Guiness book of records to confirm, haha. I had a 91 year old lady on as a pillion, yes that is right 9 years from a century and she loved it! So the Spyder is popular with all ages, from my one year old son to a 91 year old lady.

Nothing particularly unstable or uncontrollable about that; even a lofted inside-front wheel is calmly swatted over the head by the ignition-retarding ESP."

1. The cheeky satisfied grin that lasts for days after every time you ride it.
2. That it is a totally new and unique vehicle. Giving you the benefits of a high performance sports car, supersport motorbike and the fun of an ATV and jet ski all in the one attractive package. The other great thing is that it is also comfortable and practical for touring.
3. The safety- with features you would expect from a five star rated NCAP car. The Vehicle Stability System (VSS) which controls the Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Stability Control System (SCS). The Spyder also features Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).

I first saw the Spyder about a year ago. A mate sent me a youtube video. My first impression- different. I watched a few more videos, did a bit more research and sat on it for a while. They came to Australia and as one of the things you have to do- I added take a Spyder for a test ride to my list. I have had a lot of fun on jetski's,  I have had a lot of fun on ATV's, I have owned a couple of sports cars, I have owned a few supersport motorbikes, so the Spyder kind of fits in the middle of there somewhere with benefits of all of the above.
So I finally took one for a test ride. Again- my frst impression was different. Then after a few corners- my different went to good- a few more corners- was just all smiles. Once you get over
- not having a front brake lever,
- trusting that you aren't going to roll,
- you steer instead of lean,
IT IS REALLY GOOD FUN.
